The Cowichan Valley Trail<\/a> <\/strong>is a spectacular multi-use trail that is an integral part of  the Trans Canada Trail route on Southern Vancouver Island. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cowichan Valley section runs from the Capital Regional District boundary at the top of the Malahat, north to Shawnigan Lake and the Kinsol Trestle, west to the Town of Lake Cowichan then north to the Nanaimo Regional District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Historic Kinsol Trestle<\/a><\/strong> is open to the public for cyclists, hikers and equestrians to experience the full Cowichan Valley Trail in the Cowichan Region. The parking lot for trail access is 15 minutes away. The trestle is about 1km walk from the lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kinsol Trestle is one of eight trestles along the Cowichan Valley Trail route and by far the largest and most spectacular. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kinsol Trestle is one of the tallest free-standing and most spectacular timber rail trestle structures in the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 187 metres in length and standing 44 metres above the salmon bearing Koksilah River, the Kinsol is an incredible structure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cobble Hill Mountain<\/strong><\/a> has some great trails for all levels of walker or hiker. The parking lot is only 10 minutes away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Malahat Skywalk<\/strong><\/a> is quite the experience. Great views from the top, and you have to try the slide down to the bottom…very fast! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will take you about 20 minutes to drive there on the Island Highway, south.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
